ART DECO 1920's NORITAKE KOKURA CHINA 20 PIECE TEA SET with a Noritake Arabian Desert Pattern. Design: A beautiful lustre ware Tea Set, featuring a man on a camel, in an Arabian desert of dunes, and date palm trees. All pieces have a cobalt, and stylised gold encrusted border. Tea Set Comprises: A cake plate, sugar bowl and six trios. History: Okura Art China was established in 1919 in the suburb of Kamata in Tokyo by Magobei Okura and his son Kazuchika hence K.

Who with four others founded the Noritake company in 1904. Okura pieces were made by hand, and were of choice material, targeting the top segment of the market. Absolutely no chips cracks or crazing. The encrusted gold, in the border is extremely good. The gilt is generally good, with some rubbing at the rims edge.
