59 Pc Rose China (Noritake) Porcelain Made in Occupied Japan 1948-52 Vintage. The 59 pieces include: 7 Dinner plates, 1 Oval Platter, 9 Soup Bowls, 12 Small Bowls, 7 Saucers, 3 Tea/Coffee Cups, 12 Bread & Butter Plates, 8 Salad/Dessert Plates. There are 2 dishes with chips (a saucer and a dessert plate) (see photos).
After WWII, from 1948 to 1952, Noritake China was marked in slightly differing ways, the most common marks used included'Occupied Japan' or'Made in Occupied Japan'. Also Immediately after WWII, and due to an inability to maintain quality standards, the company stopped using Noritake on their marks and used'Rose China' alongside a rose with'Made in Japan' or'Made in Occupied Japan'.
Noritake marked their China as Rose China during war/occupation and added the N wreath around 1953.
